A Fabulous Easter weekend!

Did we go anywhere? No

Did we have a great time? YES

Firstly, here's just a little sneak peak at some of the canvases I made over the weekend in preperation for the mamoth marketeering I'll be doing in the next few weeks.  Firstly I've got Mathilda's Market in Ascot on the 17th of this month, then we've got the first every BrisStyle Twilight Market at King George Square in the city Friday 30th April 5-9pm, and if that wasn't enough, the following week we've got the first BrisStyle Mother and Child Market on Saturday 8th May at Hamilton.
Still lots more making to be done but at least i've started!

I picked the girls up Sunday morning from Kevin's because they spent the weekend with him.  And from then until last night we were busy with lots of crafty projects and other things.  It was so nice to spend quality time with my girls.  Not having to be anywhere or do anything, just sit and play.
Here are some piccies from our lovely Easter weekend.
Meggie was more interested in eating everyone's chocolate than making stuff.  Although she did take a fancy to the small butterfly punch.  We had tiny butterflies all over the place!

Here's Lilly's before photo (we didn't get to an after photo...sorry)

Emma's masterpiece here is a Birthday card for her little friend India (who's birthday was about two months ago..better late than never hey)  The picture is suposed to be her face...can you tell?

what our lounge room floor looked like for two days!!!  It's nice and clean again now thank god!

This is how we finished our Easter weekend last night

YUM

Ahh a very crafty day

I've been busy creating some Layouts for the ScrapLounge March Cybercrop today.  I'm feeling so good about it because it's been months and months and MONTHS since I've taken part in a cybercrop on my own website!!!
~ Challenge 1 ~
create a page using
4 Photos
4 Alphas
4 Embellishments
4 patterned papers
~ Challenge 2 ~
Monocromatic Green Page using an altered photo
I sneaked in some yellow there by accident and actually created a canvas instead of a Layout.

~ Challenge 3 ~
Create a page with green on it somewhere
4 patterned papers
1 Journal spot
create your own stamp

I used the stamp pad itself to make my hearts.

On another crafty note, I made a canvas for a friend's daughter's birthday the other day.  It's supposed to look like a Fairy Garden, what do you think?

New Fish, a shaved head and burning wood

That's the topic for tonight's post. Firstly, we have two new additions to our family. Meet Teeny and Tiny (named by Emma). My girls have never had a pet before so they are chuffed with their two little gold swimming friends.

I was a bit worried about the fish in the first week because they really didn't seem to be settling into their new home at all. They were pooing SOOO much (I thought it was normal) and they weren't really moving around the bowl that much. In fact, every morning I woke up worried I'd find them floating at the top of the water, but alas, they made it through! After some fresh water and a bowl clean out, they've settled right down and are very cute in fact - especially at feeding time, they remind me of excited puppies, coming up to the edge waiting for their tucker.

My friend Theresa was VERY brave and did the shave for a cure this year. The official 'shave off her hair' party was Saturday night and it was heaps of fun. She has a very nice shaped head so i think she looks fine. She's not so sure...lol

It was a great night with her friends and family there for moral support and although she's still collecting money from people she thinks she raised almost $2000. What a fantastic effort!!!!

The other highlight of the night (for me anyway) was the lovely bonfire. Just a small one but big enough to keep us nice and toasty in the cool night and oh my god is burning wood not one of the nicest smells in the world?? Providing it's in a contained fire of course!

So that's it for now, I haven't done much creating since the BrisStyle and Young Designers markets the other week (which were absolutely fantastic I might add) but am feeling the urge coming on very strong. If this pesky cold that I've picked up decides to ease off a bit tomorrow I might actually get my pretty papers out and have a little play :)

BrisStyle Markets and my birthday

Wow how exciting and nerve racking it all is!!! It's my first BrisStyle Market I've done...in fact it's pretty much the first inner city market I've done EVER. Am very, very excited about it but the nerves are taking over a little so I've decided to set up my stall in the living room to ease my nerves and make sure I've got everything sorted so come Saturday there will be no last minute suprises!!!

Here's a sneaky peak

So now I just need to finish wiring a few canvases, price all the non-priced items and then get me some sandbags for the marquee!! Anyone with any clues where to get these around Ipswich please share your wisdom and save me a frantic last minute search ok;)

If you're in Brisbane on Saturday I'd love to see you pop by the market for a visit. It's at St Augustine Church Hall and Grounds, Racecourse Road Hamilton. It's seriously easy to get to (Racecourse Rd is directly opposite Brett's Warf), and it's only 30mins from Ipswich.

It also looks like I'm doing the Young Designers Market at South Bank on Sunday...extra excited and nervous about that one too but I'm waiting to hear back from the organisers of that one to confirm that my stall fees went through before the cut off so won't get too excited just yet.

In other news, I turned 32 on Friday. i'm loving this age already, I think because 32 is a 5 and I like odd numbers!! My friend Theresa made a lovely lunch for some friends and I. You know those rice paper wraps you get in the supermarket? If you're like me, you've had a pack sitting in your pantry for almost a year because you have no idea what to do with them...well today is your lucky day my friend because now I know what to do!

Step 1:
Soak rice paper in hot water for a few seconds until it softens

Step 2
have your yummy pre-prepared ingredients ready to go and load up your rice paper!

Then add some yummy sauce (sweet chilli is yummo) and wrap

Then consume and follow up with the yummiest white chocolate MUD CAKE you can find

This one was also made by the very talented Theresa!

Here's a piccie of us all....don't look at me, I look terrible!! I seriously need to start putting make up on again! and do something with that hair of mine...oh please!

from left - Krissy, Theresa, me, Cherie and down the front Miss Lilly who has just had a make over by Miss Charlotte and had a nice bit of blue icing on the lips!

Look at these cuties ~ Miss Meg gives thumbs up for mummy's new keyring, and Master Jarrah, how cute is he!!!!

Until next time...stay cool

New Year, New House

Well hasn't time gotten away already this year!!? My girls and I were so lucky to spend an entire month down in Melbourne over Christmas so we had lots of catch ups with all our family and friends. It was so lovely and as you can imagine I have so many photos but it's almost time for school drop off this morning so here's just a few from our trip to Luna Park.

Meg and Lilly loved the little Elephant ride. Emma was more of a thrill seeker and prefered the Scenic Railway rollercoaster!

My cutie Nephew and Niece Logan and Adison. She pulls the funniest most unimpressed faces I've seen!

And of course the best part of Luna Park. The symbol of St Kilda that everyone knows and loves (except kids, it's kind of big and scary for them!)

I've also been busy moving into a new house. My girls now have a bedroom each instead of all three of them sharing so I'm a much happier mummy at their bedtime. I'm busy settling in and decorating the place and can't wait to share some pics.

Ok better get the girl to school

Sneaky Peaks for tomorrow's Handmade Expo

In preparation for the last market of 2009 I've been running around like a maniac trying to get as much new stuff made as possible. So far, so good. I'm really pleased with the cute new hairclips I've made up (big girls clips as well as little girl's clips ladies ;))

and I'm pretty impressed with some other cute pictures I've come up with

But I'm absolutely THRILLED with these two additions.... Firstly the Twilight Pendant necklaces. I've had a bag of old scrabble tiles sitting in my craft room forever and I finally found a place to buy my pendant findings and the necklace chain so here we are. Twilight Scrabble Tile Pendant Necklaces. They look fantastic all made up!

And secondly, these.....
They are children's bangles but the best part is they are made from recycled plastic Bottles!!!! How great is that! I stumbled across a book at Spotlight and it's all about how to make funky jewellery items out of used plastic water bottles. I'm loving it and every little bit helps when it comes to recycling! I'll be doing some tutorials on these over at the ScrapLounge Blog soon so I'll let you know when it's up.

So tomorrow is the Handmade Expo at the Ipswich Turf Club on Brisbane Street Bundamba. If you're in the area be sure to pop in and say hi. Entry to the market is free and Emma's school is running the sausage sizzle at the market too so be sure to pick one up (they'll be yummy). The Handmade Expo is filled to the brim with fabulous products perfect for Christmas presents so make sure you're cashed up ok. Trust me you'll regret it if you're not ;)

A Big weekend of Markets

I am a very tired girl this Monday night after such a busy weekend with markets and the very hot days that accompanied them! But it was lots of fun. Saturday was the Handmade Expo in Ipswich where I share a stall with Tammy from Boo-Rah Designs. It was great to catch up with her!!! We had a good day and met some lovely ladies from the BrisStyle Etsy group which both Tammy and I have just been accepted as members YAY!

I sold one of my favourite canvases which as always was very hard to part with but it went to a lovely home so it's all good and now I'll need to get to work on another oval canvas yippee

I also finished off a few custom orders last week. I forgot to photograph some of them (I know how could I!!) but I did photograph my lovely Vintage Lady No.1 She's no.1 because I had such fun making it that I'm going to do a series. I've also uploaded Art Cards of her to Etsy. The customer I made her for absolutely loves her

I'll be working on lots of new things this week so will share when I'm done

Thanks for reading
